Job Description
Aramark Canada is seeking a Hospitality Service Manager to provide leadership and operational oversight for food and environmental services (housekeeping and laundry). The role is responsible for recruitment, training, developing, coaching, and supporting employees while building strong relationships with clients and residents.
The Hospitality Service Manager maintains accurate records, ensures compliance with audit requirements, and enforces effective communication across teams while independently managing priorities in a fast-paced environment and adhering to client and company standards.

Job Responsibilities
• Oversee daily operations for food services, environmental services within a senior living environment.
• Lead the planning and delivery of resident and client catered functions, ensuring quality service and operational efficiency.
• Monitor financial performance, including budget management, inventory, ordering and invoice processes, payroll accuracy, cost control, and adherence to financial targets.
• Review operational results, identify variances, and implement corrective actions to support financial and service objectives.
• Recruit, train, develop, coach, and support employees while managing performance in accordance with company policies, client expectations, and applicable labour requirements.
• Provide regular coaching and feedback to employees, fostering accountability, engagement, professional growth, and a positive team culture.
• Lead daily pre-shift huddles to communicate priorities, safety updates, operational changes, and service expectations.
• Promote clear, timely, and respectful communication among employees, clients, residents, families, and community partners.
• Proactively address resident, family, client, and employee concerns, ensuring appropriate follow-up and timely resolution.
• Complete monthly FoodSafe, food management, housekeeping, and laundry audits, documenting findings and implementing required improvements.
• Ensure the timely collection and review of resident satisfaction surveys and use feedback to improve service delivery.
• Participate in monthly Resident Council meetings and communicate relevant feedback, actions, and outcomes to the appropriate teams.
• Contribute to Social Club initiatives, Total Quality Management, business planning, and capital equipment reviews and recommendations.
• Execute and delegate work in accordance with client and Aramark policies, procedures, quality assurance standards, and health and safety requirements.
• Report and upload employee injuries and near misses through Global Metrics Monitor (GMM), and recommend preventative measures to reduce future incidents.
• Attend Aramark meetings, training sessions, and organizational functions.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Diploma or degree in management, hospitality, food service, dietetics, or a related discipline, with a minimum of two years of relevant experience; alternatively, five years of related experience combined with demonstrated leadership capability.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in a healthcare or senior living environment.
• Minimum of two years’ experience working in a unionized environment.
• Mandatory CSNM membership (Canadian Society of Nutrition Management)
• Advanced Food Safety Certification.
• Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, cost control, invoice processing, payroll oversight, and reviewing operating results.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, coach, train, motivate, and manage employee performance effectively.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with residents, families, clients, employees, and coworkers.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Office, and Excel.
• First Aid Certification is an asset.
• Ability to work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
• Physical ability to perform light lifting and frequent walking.
• Flexibility to work varying schedules, including weekends.
• Commitment to resident-centred service and a respectful, inclusive workplace.
Working Conditions
This position works in a senior living environment serving older adults and individuals with physical or mental health challenges. Success in this role requires patience, empathy, professionalism, sound judgment, and the ability to remain calm and positive while responding to changing needs.
Senior living operations operate continuously, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and may be required to remain operational during inclement weather. This is an on-site position and does not include a work-from-home arrangement. Employees must have reliable transportation and appropriate plans to report to and return from work, including alternative arrangements when necessary.
