Azhadi Vineyards is a new destination winery under construction scheduled to open Fall 2025 in Kelowna, BC. Position Summary
Azhadi Vineyards is seeking an accomplished and hospitality-driven Restaurant Manager to lead the front-of-house operations at our fine dining restaurant. Rooted in elegance, cultural nuance, and exceptional service, this role is central to delivering a seamless and memorable guest journey. The ideal candidate brings experience in refined dining environments, a deep appreciation for food and wine, and the leadership finesse to build and inspire a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Service Standards
- Uphold and embody the highest standards of service, aligning with Azhadi’s fine dining ethos.
- Ensure an impeccable guest experience throughout all service periods, tastings, and events.
- Be a consistent presence on the floor—anticipating guest needs, resolving issues discreetly, and creating personalized moments.
Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit, train, and mentor a polished front-of-house team including servers, hosts, and bartenders.
- Lead daily pre-shift briefings, wine and service training, and uphold a culture of professionalism and attention to detail.
- Provide structured performance feedback and foster career development within the team.
Operational Excellence
- Oversee the day-to-day flow of service, table settings, floor plans, reservations, and guest pacing.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards including health & safety, liquor licensing, and company protocols.
- Work in close coordination with the Executive Chef to synchronize service with culinary execution.
Wine & Beverage Program
- Ensure flawless wine service that reflects Azhadi’s premium small-batch offerings.
- Partner with the winery and sommelier team to deliver regular wine education for staff.
- Maintain accurate inventory, manage supplier orders, and support cellar organization and wine list curation.
Financial & Administrative Management
- Assist with budget planning, cost control, and labor management.
- Manage daily financial procedures: end-of-day reconciliation, cash-outs, payroll approvals, and reporting.
- Analyze service trends and provide insights for continual improvement.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years in restaurant management, with at least 2 years in a fine dining or luxury hospitality environment.
- WSET Level 2 certification required; WSET Level 3 or CMS certification considered a strong asset.
- Proven leadership experience with an emphasis on service training, team engagement, and guest satisfaction.
- Strong grasp of wine service, tasting menus, and refined dining protocol.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and conflict resolution skills.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and event-based shifts.
- Serving It Right certification required.
