MANAGER, SUPPORT SERVICES

Position Summary

Are you interested in an opportunity to grow professionally within a positive and progressive culture? Northern Health is seeking a champion with management and leadership experience to join our Support Services department.

The Manager, Support Services has a key leadership role in directing the overall operations of Support Services: Food Services, Environmental Services, Laundry and Stores (where applicable) within designated sites. The Manager is responsible for financial, strategic and operational planning, management of the implementation of policies and processes, capital expenditures, cost control strategies and human resource practices. The incumbent networks within the regional structure for the integration of services.

Starting salary will be approximately from $90,770 to $113,462 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition/Dietetics with five (5) to seven (7) years recent experience in a similar role in an organization of moderate complexity, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Member in good standing with the College of Dietitians of BC and Dietitians of Canada.
• Certificate of proficiency in Laundry and/or Environmental Services.
• Food Safe Level 1 and 2.
• Experience with CBORD Food and Nutrition, or other diet software an asset.
• Valid BC Driver’s License and access to reliable vehicle.

• Knowledge of safety and lockout procedures.
• Knowledge and skills in auditing of Environmental Services, food and laundry services in a healthcare environment.
• Working knowledge of PICNet document: BC Best Practices for Environmental Cleaning for Prevention and Control of Infections in all Healthcare Setting and Programs.
• Ability to liaise effectively with staff at all levels of the organization and with representatives in other health care facilities, community agencies and academic institutions.
• Ability to operate related equipment.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
