Founded in 1997 and conveniently located at Granville Island, Vancouver’s urban oasis for food and culture, Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts has consistently ranks as one of the Canada’s best culinary training academies for food and wine. Our stunning private event space, Blue Hat Bistro & Bakery-Café can accommodate groups from 10 to 90 people in our marina side dining room and patio with city and mountain views.
We are seeking a highly organized and dynamic Cooking Class Manager who will oversee the entire recreational cooking class program — from concept to execution. This includes developing and executing new class ideas, recruiting and coordinating chef-instructors, scheduling classes, and ensuring participants enjoy a seamless, memorable experience. The role requires a balance of event management, culinary knowledge, and people skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Development: Create and curate new casual cooking class themes inspired by culinary trends, holidays, and seasonal ingredients.
- Chef Recruitment & Coordination: Source, hire, and schedule chef-instructors; collaborate with them to design engaging class content and recipes.
- Scheduling & Logistics: Build a dynamic class calendar, manage kitchen availability, and coordinate staffing, ingredients, and supplies.
- Customer Experience: Ensure all guests receive a polished, welcoming experience before, during, and after class.
- Marketing Support: Work with the marketing team to promote classes, track sales, and analyze attendance trends.
- Budget & Reporting: Manage program budgets, track profitability, and provide leadership with performance insights.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in event planning, hospitality, or culinary program management
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Knowledge of food and cooking; a culinary background is a plus
- Experience hiring, scheduling, or coordinating staff
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work evenings and weekends, depending on class schedule

Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
